Technology Milestones
Since the start of the Victor Company of Japan in 1927, JVC has made technological advances that have helped influence the direction in which the world has evolved. As the first company to press phonograph records in Japan and the inventor of the VHS video format, it's been one innovation after another.

| 2001 | Once again JVC are winners with the launch of the Worlds Smallest and Lightest Digital Camcorder, the GR-DVP1 and GR-DVP3 Miniature series. JVC launches Trojan series (GR-DV2000 & GR-DV1800) with 1.92 Megapixel UXGA image capability - the world's highest digital still function on a movie camcorder. The HM-HDS1 combined hard disk and S-VHS recorder is introduced to the UK. |
