2006 marks the 10th anniversary of the annual JVC Jazz Festival Paris and over 11,000 fans attended the shows taking place in concert halls and jazz clubs throughout the heart of Paris. Between 1991 and 1996 JVC feted Jazz at La Villette, the prestigious City of Sciences and Industry on the outer periphery of Paris. In 1997 the Festival moved to the heart of the City of Light and has since played world famous theaters including l'Olympia; Salle Pleyel; Opera Comique; Elysée Montmartre and dozens of famous Parisian nightclubs.

The 2006 JVC Jazz Festival Paris was filled with sold out concerts and luminous musical experiences. Two delirious nights at La Cigale featured Branford Marsalis and Kenny Garrett -- young lions who have grown to become jazz giants in their own right, maintaining the tradition while pushing it (hard) to new heights. The JVC Jazz Festival Paris offered a unique opportunity to hear them live on consecutive nights at an atmospheric 19th century theater in Paris' throbbing Pigalle district.
A magical stolen moment took place near the end of a powerful set by the Chicago vocalist Kurt Elling and his trio when they were joined onstage by veteran singer Sheila Jordan.

The capacity crowd at New Morning were treated to a truly joyful and inventive finale by the two scatmasters.
