Something very different for JVC's main stage in Newport was the brilliant tap-dancing of Savion Glover to live jazz music. His interpretation of the music, through his tapping, added a new dimension for the listener.

The energy could not be higher than for the music of Angelique Kidjo, a petite powerhouse vocalist, who had the crowd dancing, singing and feeling all of her positive vibes.
Chris Botti's incredible musical talent was evident by his incredibly well received performance, as he performed jazz classics as well as songs from his album with his band.

But, JVC Jazz Festival - Newport saves the best for last on Sunday night. This year's best: The incomparable Dave Brubeck Quartet, an 85-year-young musician whose timing and sound are among the best jazz has to offer. As expected, his famous "Take Five", brought several rounds of ovations from the enthralled audience.
A constant with JVC Jazz Festival - Newport is that the artists and fans alike remain drawn to the Newport festival for its history, its atmosphere and the strength of the programming.
