JVC LAUNCHES NEW EVERIO CAMCORDER LINE-UP FEATURING MODELS WITH Wi-Fi WIRELESS COMMUNICATION FUNCTIONS

Las Vegas - 2012 International CES® – 10th January 2012 – JVC Kenwood announced the launch of its new Everio Camcorder line-up featuring models with built-in Wi-Fi. The new Wi-Fi models are part of seven models in the Everio line-up that spans a wide range of needs, from point-and-shoot to full manual creativity for the serious video enthusiast.

Most notable is that key models throughout the line-up are equipped with a new Wi-Fi wireless feature, providing unique functions such as Live Monitoring, Auto Photo Email, Video Email and Smartphone Linking. Live Monitoring allows for real-time monitoring of images taken with the Everio via Wi-Fi Direct or an access point on a PC, Android device or iPhone/iPad with free app* installed. Auto Photo Email automatically emails stills taken using Everio’s movement detect function to a computer or Smartphone. Video Email sends out 15-second videos directly from Everio to up to eight email addresses at once (640 x 360 pixels). Installing the free app* on an Android device or iPhone/iPad also opens up numerous additional possibilities including Geotagging in conjunction with the smartphone’s GPS function, as well as the ability to use the smartphone as a Remote Control for Everio, and easy transfer of video and stills from Everio to smartphone for quick sharing via the internet. This innovation makes Everio uniquely capable of harnessing the Wi-Fi environment that is becoming increasingly common in offices, homes, and public spaces.

JVC fills the gap between traditional video cameras which offer great image quality and zoom capability with limited communication options, and smartphones which provide excellent communication with limited image capturing capability. Everio’s EX, VX and GX series models offer an advanced solution for today’s communication needs and provide new ways to bring wireless visual communication into everyday lives.

All new Everio models in the line-up can record in 1920 x 1080 Full HD based on AVCHD format, and offer very high quality recording in UXP mode with an industry-leading 24 Mbps sampling rate. Additionally, all models offer HDMI® output for superior results when viewing on the latest big-screen TVs.

The Everio E/EX series comprises models that offer basic point-and-shoot simplicity as well as a number of helpful features. Using any model (except GZ-E10/E15), even beginners will be able to shoot excellent videos with the help of Smile Meter which shows how big a smile is in percentage points, Smile Shot which automatically takes a digital still when it detects a great smile, and Pet Shot which supports animal faces for great shots of your cat or dog. Various Animation Effects can be added to decorate any shot, such as ribbons and glasses that correctly superimpose onto people’s faces, and handwritten titles. The KONICA MINOLTA HD LENS assures high quality images while 40x Optical Zoom enables close-up shots from far away, with no sacrifice in optical quality. Advanced Image Stabilizer effectively counters “camera shake”. The new zoom microphone changes the focal point to match the picture, to enable what is being seen to also be heard. There’s even a Silent Mode that lets the user mute operation sounds and darken the LCD for unobtrusive recording of school plays or lectures, in just a few simple steps. Windows® application to support image management, simple editing, and easy sharing, is supplied.

The Everio V/VX series features a totally unconventional design that makes it stand out and get noticed. Its premium styling with flat surfaces using high grade materials like the aluminium panel LCD door and front end, is a rank above, and so are the functions it offers. F1.2 Super LoLux capability assures high quality recording even in dim environments. To the substantial feature mix of the E/EX series, V/VX adds Hi-Speed Rec and Super Slow so you can slow down any movement to one-fifth its original speed, and Motor Drive for rapid-fire capture of digital stills. Image stability is doubly assured with both Advanced Image Stabilizer and Optical Image Stabilizer.

The Everio GX series model GZ-GX1 takes an entirely different approach to styling, emphasizing its utility as an image acquisition tool. It has a prominent lens barrel which houses the 29.5mm Wide/HD GT Lens — a lens developed specifically to yield optimal results together with the 1/2.3” 10 Megapixel Back-Illuminated CMOS sensor. Recording is done in 1920 x 1080 Full HD at 50P compliant with AVCHD Progressive standards (conventional interlace also supported). 11 Megapixel digital stills can be taken in the Ultra Resolution mode. Additional perks available only on GZ-GX1 include Headphone Output, Microphone Input, Accessory Shoe, Remote Control, as well as the ability to attach conversion lenses and filters. These differences put it a step above the rest, making it a favourite choice among serious creators.
